Good morning everyone!

Apologies for the delay in sending this email- we are finishing up semester 1 and the grading is getting to me! Here are a few quick updates for the upcoming weeks. 

1. This weekend we have our senior meet! With the inclimate weather predictions we are still waiting to see what the decision will be regarding cancellation of MCPS activities. Fingers crossed that the meet will not be cancelled! In the event that it is cancelled, I will keep everyone updated on the contingency plans. Seniors, do not fret, you will receive the recognition you deserve even if the meet is cancelled! In the meantime, please make sure to indicate athlete availability and parent availability to volunteer at the meet on Swimtopia.  Dayna sent out an email to parent earlier with the volunteer positions that need to be filled. 

2. Post season: We finally received the Metros meet announcement. The document is attached. The Divisionals announcement is also attached below. We are allowed 3 entries per individual event, following the typical rule of 2 individual events and 2 relays per swimmer. 

4. Practices: This Friday is our final regular season practice! For the remainder of the season, meet entries will be limited, and therefore practices will not be required unless you are swimming in a championship meet. However, I highly encourage everyone to still attend practices, as you may be selected to swim in a championship meet in the case of unforeseen circumstances. Attendance at practices in the past two weeks has been lower, and Coach Dever and I have not received many messages explaining absences. If you are hoping to compete at championship meets, you must attend practices or communicate excused absences in order to be selected to compete.
