Divisionals and Metros

Happy snow day!

I hope everyone is staying warm. A big round of applause to everyone for the success of our senior meet this past weekend! We saw many excellent races, demonstrated our team spirit, and gave our seniors a proper send off. I already told our athletes this, but I am really proud of how we all came together, and I think it was our most fun meet yet!

Looking to the post-season, here are some updates.

Divisionals: Dayna sent out an email earlier on the listserv asking for volunteers for divisionals and declarations of availability. Here is the spreadsheet for volunteer positions. There is no edit access, but if you can volunteer let us know with a reply to this email and I will add you in.

I also just changed the status of the availability on swimtopia to "open". Everyone can declare availability, although not every athlete will be selected to compete in divisionals unfortunately. Similar to the summer league, only the top 3 swimmers in each event will be selected to race, along with one relay team per event. Divers must be able to do 6 dives. I must submit entries by 5 p.m. tomorrow. Kindly indicate your athlete's availability by 5 p.m. tonight, and I apologize for the late notice on this deadline (I've spent my snow weekend doing grading and forgot to update swimtopia!)

The divisionals meet announcement is attached below.

Metros: The deadline for Metros entries is February 1st at 12 noon. HOWEVER, I am planning to submit the entries well before that. If you already know you have qualified for Metros, and you have a USA Swimming ID number, please email me the ID number with your full legal name so I can submit for Metro entries. If you competed at Metros or States last year, your times/scores count as qualifiers for this year.

I would highly encourage team members to come out to Metros in Germantown to support our athletes, even if you are not competing! If you have never attended a Metros before, it is one of the most fun meets you can go to. The energy is high, and you have the chance to see some serious competition.

Metros meet announcement is attached below.

Please reach out with any questions!

Best,

Coach Dworak
